Donna Yamazaki

Donna Yamazaki is a trained Collaborative Law lawyer and is conversant in Japanese. Her practice focuses on the areas of divorce, property division, child and spousal support, parenting issues and adoption law. Donna negotiates and drafts cohabitation, marriage, separation, and asset protection agreements, and helps clients navigate the legal process, providing legal solutions tailored to meet their individual needs. Donna takes non-adversarial approach to her practice when possible, emphasizing negotiation and mediation to mitigate conflict and reduce costs. When court intervention proves necessary, Donna has extensive litigation experience and will skillfully advocate on her clients’ behalf.

Donna obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia where she completed her third year at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan.  After working in rural Japan as a Coordinator for International Relations with the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program and backpacking around Asia and Europe, she continued her studies at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law and obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree in 2003.  After completing her articles in Victoria, Donna was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 2004 and joined a full-service law firm in downtown Vancouver where she practiced exclusively in the area of family law for 15 years before joining Hamilton Fabbro in 2020.

Donna is a Member of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association (Vancouver) Family Law Section.  Donna is a sports enthusiast and enjoys running, golfing and skiing.
