Meghan Selinger obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Psychology from the University of British Columbia in 2001. She continued at UBC for law school, where she graduated in 2004. She had the opportunity to complete her final semester of law school at the University of Sydney in Sydney, Australia as part of an exchange program. Following law school, she completed her articles and practiced at a full service law firm in the Fraser Valley. There she had the opportunity to practice in the areas of family law, insurance defense, civil litigation, construction law, as well as conduct prosecutions on behalf of the Federal Crown. In 2007, she returned to Vancouver and joined a boutique law firm, where she practiced until joining Hamilton Fabbro in May of 2010.
Ms. Selinger is an accredited Family Law Mediator and a qualified Collaborative Divorce practitioner.
Ms. Selinger is Past-Chair of the Canadian Bar Association Family Law Vancouver Subsection after having been Chair for two years. She is also a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of B.C. Ms. Selinger was an elected member of Provincial Council (Vancouver County) for the Canadian Bar Association. In 2014, she co-taught the course on Family Law at the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Law. She is the author of the 2011 and 2012 Family Law Sourcebook updates and has contributed to the Law Society Checklists for Family Law as well as the B.C. Family Law Practice Manual. She has been a guest lecturer at the Professional Legal Training Course, CLE courses, PBLI courses, as well as other guest presentations.
