Mia Bottos (she/her) practices exclusively in the area of family law. Mia is committed to understanding each client’s individual circumstances and priorities, and strives to help them through challenging family issues with empathy, diligence and care. She understands that separation can be an incredibly difficult time for those involved, especially when children are part of the equation. With her guidance, clients can work to resolve matters in a way that considers everyone’s best interests. Although she prefers to help her clients resolve their family law disputes outside of a courtroom, she is a well-prepared and skillful advocate when litigation proves necessary.
Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Mia obtained both of her degrees from the University of Alberta; in 2017, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, accomplishing a double major in Political Sciences and Women and Gender Studies, and in 2022 she graduated with her Juris Doctor from the Faculty of Law. During law school, Mia was extensively involved in extracurriculars and served as President of the Law Students’ Association in her third year. Mia’s enthusiasm for engaging with and supporting her community has lent itself well to the practice of family law, which she believes requires a non-judgmental approach especially as it relates to the unique makeup of each family unit.
In 2022, Mia moved to Vancouver to complete her articles at a boutique family law firm. In 2023, Mia was called to the Bar in British Columbia and joined Hamilton Fabbro as an associate. Mia is currently a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Trial Lawyers’ Association of BC and is a volunteer member of the Equity Diversity and Inclusion Committee with the latter.
In Mia’s free time, she enjoys being outside, trying new recipes, reading, and catching up on sleep. She is also conversational in Italian.
